While the assumption is true, the trade-off is that the light will run out quicker. Neutral ground is a voltage drop (also called IR drop) caused by load. You can get a 25' Yellow Jacket cord at any Lowe's store for around $25, IIRC. It has the two slit lookings things on either side and usually a third hole for the ground. The best you can hope for is a heavy duty "Yellow Jacket" brand extension cord with a 5-20R receptacle on one end and the standard 5-15 P plug on the other end. There are various types of electrical outlets designed to match the requirements of your appliances, power tools and electronics. 115 and 120 volt receptacles or outlets are the normal outlets that you plug everyday items into. You're probably not going to find any adapters for the cord. If you, in fact, have more than one circuit in the garage, run the cutter and compressor off of different circuits.
